A 17-Year-Old Girl Was Assaulted and Killed After Leaving a Mosque in Virginia
• Nabra Hassanen, 17, was assaulted and killed after getting breakfast with friends after a nighttime mosque service.
According to police, Nabra had completed a post- prayer breakfast at IHOP and was going back with friends when she got into a dispute with a man in a car early Sunday. The man ambushed her and she ended up separated from her friends. Her friends ran back to the mosque to report Nabra had been missing, and mosque authorities called the police.
Police have charged Darwin Martinez Torres, 22, with
murder.
